Noble Energy – Alen Gas Monetization – West Africa
As part of Noble Energy’s West Africa gas monetization strategy, the existing Alen offshore facility was transformed into an offshore hub for the development of future Gulf of Guinea gas fields and extended the life of the Equatorial Guinea LNG / LPG complex at Punta Europa on Bioko Island. The Alen facility had been exporting condensate, stripping off the produced gas to Aseng, and reinjecting the gas for reservoir pressure maintenance. The Alen Gas Monetization Project (AGMP) transitioned the facility from its current “Recycle” phase into the export “Sales” phase. CTI performed Subsea Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering (DE) of the faci approximately 69 kilometers (42.9 miles) new gas export pipeline. The new pipeline originates at the base of the Alen Well Head Platform (WHP) in 73-meters (238-feet) of water, traverse water up to 85- meters (279-feet) and terminates onshore at the MEGPL receiving station in Punta Europa.
CTI’s responsibilities in providing engineering support included:
- Performed detailed engineering-level pipeline line sizing and analysis and revised as required with updated input parameters as they became available
- Confirmed the suitability of the existing 24-inch static riser with company-provided data
- Developed the configuration and dimensions of the diver-installable riser-base tie-in spools that satisfy all strength and fatigue requirements considering all the installation tolerances and target boxes
- Prepared technical packages and scope of work necessary to support procurement and installation required to execute the project
